Valentine's Day is coming up this week, which is why we are talking all things LOVE!
It doesn't matter if you're married, single, widowed or whatever, the opportunity to show love is always important. Love isn't always the romantic kind, either. In fact, there are many ways we can spread the love in our world. We want to challenge you to do ta few of these intentional acts of love this month and watch what happens in your life! You just might be surprised how amazing it truly feels to give!
Pay it Forward
The next time you're in line at your favorite coffee shop, offer to pay for the next customer. Perhaps you hand the cashier a $20 bill and tell them to buy everyone's coffee until the funds run out. If you're too curious to leave, grab a table and sit back and watch the reactions of the patrons as they find out their coffee has been covered. Instant attitude boost for everyone! (Tip: do this on a Monday morning and you might be changing lives across the country... seriously!)
Send Handwritten "Love" Notes
With technology taking over the world, receiving a handwritten note in the mail is a sure way to brighten someone's day. In fact, make a list of people you could send a little note to, just because. This is a fun thing to do, and you can even involve kids, seniors or other loved ones in your home. Think about an old boss who made a difference in your life, a nurse who stepped up to help your family, or the lady who cleans your home once a month. Once you start doing this, you'll start thinking of more and more lives you can touch! Pick up some little 'heart seals' at the store for a special touch.
Reconnect with Old Friends
In today's super busy world, it's so easy to lose touch with people. Life gets busy and over-scheduled, and then before you know it, it's been months since we heard from our friends. Make time to reach out and invite one to lunch or coffee. Be intentional. Many of our treasured clients have family caregivers who hire our Kind Companions for a few hours each month to take care of some of these personal errands, and we encourage self-care, reconnecting with friends and just taking time to rest. If we can help you as a family caregiver by relieving some of your stress, please reach out today for a complimentary, no-obligation assessment.
Take the time to show a little love this month. It will warm your heart, just as much as the ones your kindness may touch.
